Since 2021, the Town of East Hartford and East Hartford Public Schools has been honored as a national Best Community for Music Education. This designation from The NAMM Foundation is awarded to communities that demonstrate outstanding achievement for providing music access and education to all students.
To qualify for the Best Communities designation every year, EHPS answers detailed questions (Grades K-12) about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program and community music-making programs. Responses are reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.
