East Hartford celebrated Arbor Day with a celebration and tree planting ceremony at O’Brien Elementary School. The April 28th ceremony featured student performances, including several songs, poetry readings, facts about Arbor Day and even a short play. The celebration also featured remarks from Chairperson of the East Hartford Beautification Commission Pat Sirois and East Hartford Chief of Staff Connor Martin.
Every year, the town Beautification Commission helps EHPS plant a tree at one of our schools as part of East Hartford’s Tree City USA designation. East Hartford has held this prestigious designation for 27 years.
This year, the commission donated a dogwood tree that was planted outside of the school entrance with help from Superintendent Nate Quesnel, Chairperson Sirois, O’Brien Principal Talisha Foy and several O’Brien students.
