Special Education/Student Services

Special Education

Mission:

The Mission of Special Education is to educate students through rigorous instruction and excellent related services. Children who have an IEP are taught in a wide variety of settings from the least restrictive environment (general education classroom) to the most restrictive environment (homebound or hospital instruction), with integrated co teaching as part of the continuum of services.

Vision:

East Hartford Public Schools is committed to educating every child, every day. We believe that children with an Individual Education Program (IEP) will succeed academically and will develop socially and emotionally to become competent and confident members of society.

Student Services

Mission:

Student Services partners with families, staff, and the community to ensure that every student feels safe, connected, and ready to learn. We provide coordinated, layered supports that address the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of all learners, removing barriers and fostering engagement so students can thrive in school and beyond.

Vision:

We envision a school community where every student has the relationships, skills, and resources to succeed—both inside and outside the classroom. Through proactive systems of support, early intervention, and a culture of care, Student Services works to create learning environments that promote well-being, resilience, and lifelong success.
