East Hartford Public Schools (EHPS) is pleased to announce the hire of its new Supervisor of Fine and Performing Arts for the district. Andrew Clapsaddle will begin his new role on July 1, 2022.
Mr. Clapsaddle has 15 years of prior administrative experience here in Connecticut and in California. He will join EHPS from West Hartford Public Schools where he has been Principal at Sedgwick Middle School since 2014. Prior to this position, Clapsaddle was Assistant Principal at West Hartford’s Hall High School and Assistant Principal at Bristol Central High School.
Clapsaddle began his career in education as a visual arts teacher. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts-Photography and Digital Media from Towson University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from California State University. He is also a United States Marine Corps veteran.
“As a former visual arts teacher, creativity and expression are my passions and I want to ensure all students in East Hartford have opportunities to express themselves too,” said Clapsaddle.
Clapsaddle says he looks forward to creating positive relationships with the staff and community of East Hartford. In this role, he will supervise all district music and art instruction for grades K-12
