Parent Workshops, Education and Support
Lending Library parenting books and videos, children's books, puzzles, games and toys are available to borrow for one week. Children grow and change so quickly, it makes sense to borrow a toy to try it first, or bring home something new and different to capture and build on your child's interest! This service is for all East Hartford families.
Resource and Referral Services Based on family need, staff can assist with referrals for a variety of needs, including: health, housing, employment, support services and agencies in the community. A Family Resource Directory with contact information for schools, libraries, recreational activities, mental health services, and crisis intervention is available.
Parents as Teachers Home Visit Program is an internationally recognized, award winning program which empowers parents to be their child's best first teacher. The program provides support for families from pregnancy through preschool. Information on child development and behavior management, as well as developmental screenings are included. Let us help you get a handle on how best to parent! Call the Resource Center to learn more and schedule a visit with either of our Parent Educators, Andrea Baldyga or Vanessa Villafuerte.
