Dear Team,

And just like that, we’ve reached the Holiday Break.  As we rush off for a well-deserved vacation week, I want to take a moment to wish you and yours a Merry Christmas, Happy Holiday and Prosperous New Year!

At this time of year, my wife and I often discuss the concept of “overdoing it” as we preview the holiday season.  Let’s face it, “over doing it” can have serious consequences in terms of credit card balances, the irritability scales of overtired adolescents in my living room, the seemingly inaccurate readings on my bathroom scale and the number of toys cluttering my son’s bedroom floor…you get the pictureJ.  As the unpopular dad that I have turned out to be, I often find myself leading with my well-worn mantra, “don’t overdo it.”  If this sounds familiar to you, I am sure you can give me some sage advice on how to find a balance in the meaning of the season.

For this message however, I am going to break the script and share with you something we should all take the opportunity to “overdo”—Thanks and Appreciation.  In a time where excess has become the mantra of the day, let’s be wildly excessive in our gratitude for others.  “Thanks” is one of those rare ingredients that is impossible to overuse, impossible to over drink and impossible to over share.  This holiday season, I want to “overdo” my appreciation of you, our employee group, that continually shows up for work here at EHPS and makes this place an incredible organization to be a part of.  I want to “overdo” my ability to let you know that the contributions you make, in whatever role you serve, matter, and are a part of our large success and are noticed!

I wish you a healthy and happy holiday season filled with exceptional moments that this time of year can provide.  In the midst of the next few days, I hope you get some time for quiet and peace where you can reflect and know how appreciated you are here at EHPS!

See you in the halls—after the break!

Nate
