EHPS Theory of Action #2: Build a Rich and Vibrant Learning Culture
Big hornet program
On Friday, March 16th, EHHS will host a presentation from Chris Poulos in the EHHS gym. Chris is a motivational speaker, athlete and author. His presentation includes bicycle stunt and a great message about achieving your goals, making good choices and maintaining positive peer relationships. Hopefully both the mentors and mentees will enjoy the performance and discussion.
This month our Connections Council staff role modeled described the activity for our 9th grade advisors, Famous People. This activity will be used at the end of March. Our staff groups met on March 20th to review this month’s School Connect activities:
10th grade- Empathizing with peers
11th grade – Working with your Resume
12th grade- Choosing Wisely
Spring has sprung in the land of Service Learning (even though the weather hasn’t followed suit). We kick off our service opportunities with the Bunny Breakfast and Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24th. The Student Council partners with Parks and Recreation to coordinate this town-wide event. Future opportunities include Youth Soccer coach volunteering, the MDA walk, The Iron Hornet, Apraxia Awareness, and Autism Speaks! Students should keep an ear open during connections for updated information on how to sign up. See Ms. Cote if you want a service flyer. Looking forward: In May EHHS will host our annual Principal’s Barbecue. Freshmen with 10 or more hours, sophomores with 20 or more hours, and juniors with 30 or more hours will be invited to this fun outdoor event that includes BBQ foods, ice cream, a DJ, and games! Get your hours in!
