tardy to school

The Tardy Tank continues to be a systemic process that identifies students late to school and follows a series of intervention steps depending on the frequency. To date, members of this team have made over 700 phone calls, conducted a multitude of parent meetings, and limited the number of students who receive disciplines to less than 15 each quarter. Within these efforts, we understand that loss of credit, extenuating circumstances, and other factors may contribute to a child being late to school. The attendance team encourages you to talk about the importance of punctuality each day and the impact that being on time has on work, and in life. Our attendance team is always looking to improve on our practices and policies. As a result, any feedback or insight regarding how to best support our students in understanding and/or intervening with respect to tardies, is greatly appreciated. Please feel free to share this information with the team or house 10.

quarter 3 loss of credit

As we approach the end of the third quarter, we encourage teachers to review the “Absences YTD” component of the report card during distribution of these reports. This is an opportune time to let students know “where they stand” with respect to loss of credit in full and half year courses, as well as identifying any planning or documentation needs regarding attendance. If your student has any questions regarding his/her status, please direct them to the appropriate house office.

CELEBRATING ALL IN, EVERYDAY

Each month, the attendance team will designate one student (per grade level) for Most Improved Attendance and Perfect Attendance. Please congratulate these students as you see them recognized for their commitment to being in school, every day!
