Attendance Networking Event

On December 5, 2017 the District Attendance Task Force met with over 25 community partners to discuss current trends, action plans, and opportunities for maintaining awareness and response to attendance in schools.  During this meeting, the team reviewed applicable data, discussed partnership possibilities with schools, and set goals for the spring semester.  The presentation from this session can be accessed here.  More work from the committee will include the following:

  • •      Community Partner Toolkit for schools
  • •      School attendance meetings with community partners
  • •      Regular communications throughout schools
  • •      Continued networking possibilities

Please see the attendance office for more information.

loss of credit

As we reach the mid-point of the school year, please remind students of the Loss of Credit policy and how this may impact their credit for individual courses.  As a reminder, 10 absences in a half-year course and 20 absences in a full-year course would mean that the student has lost credit.  It is important to note that unexcused and excused absences both contribute to this number and students who have excused absences may verify these days through the attendance verification process. Questions regarding this policy can be directed to the house offices.

celebrating ALL IN, Everyday

Each month, the attendance team will designate one student (per grade level) for Most Improved Attendance and Perfect Attendance.  Please congratulate these students as you see them recognized for their commitment to being in school, every day!
