Sharon Bremner, Ed.D.
Sharon Bremner, Ed.D. is the Director of Pupil Personnel Services for East Hartford Public Schools. She earned her B.A. degree in special education from Saint Joseph College, West Hartford, CT. and her M.S. degree in reading from Central Connecticut State University, New Britain, CT. In addition, she holds a doctoral degree in educational leadership from the University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT.
She began her professional career as a special education teacher in the State of Connecticut, Unified School District #3. She continued her work in state service as a transition coordinator assisting area youth transition from high school to the adult world. Dr. Bremner went on to become the Director of Special Education and Related Services for EDUCATION CONNECTION, the Regional Education Service Center for the western Connecticut area. Prior to joining East Hartford Public Schools, she was the Director of Special Services for Regional School District No. 6.
Dr. Bremner believes that every child is special and has a unique contribution to make to the world. The school learning environment is one that supports continual growth so that children can develop into responsible, productive and happy members of society. Her duties in East Hartford include making sure that each child who receives special services has an appropriate individual plan that meets the child’s needs. Dr. Bremner works with teachers, staff and other administrators to ensure that the regulations established by both state and federal special education law are followed. Her professional career has been dedicated to working with children who have special needs so that they can fully realize their potential.
