Did you know that Huihui is one of only 28 teachers to be chosen for the TCLP program? And that the acceptance rate for TCLP is more difficult than getting into Harvard?
TCLP (Teachers of Critical Languages Program) is funded by the Department of State. Teachers from China, Morroco and Egypt apply to come teach in the US for one year and to learn about American schools and culture. After they will return to their country to share their experiences with their home schools. It is a program designed to promote cultural awareness and build positive relationships between nations and we are very proud to have been chosen to be a part of the program.
Huihui teaches 3 sections of Chinese 1 during periods B, G and H. In addition, she organizes 8-10 hours of community outreach each month which include presentations or activities designed for the staff, community and students other than her own. If you are interested in inviting Huihui to talk to your class about any type of Chinese language or culture please reach out to myself or her. We are always looking for opportunities for her to visit your classrooms with a presentation or to plan cross-curricular activities.
She was recently featured in an article by the Journal Inquirer. Take a look!
In addition, here is her presentation that she gave to staff last week about her life and school in China. Feel free to watch bits and pieces or the whole thing. And let us know if you would like to know any more!
