East Hartford Public Schools is proud to be recognized in the Education Scorecard, developed by researchers at Harvard and Stanford Universities, as a "District on the Rise."

EHPS was one of just 100 districts across the country highlighted for academic progress outpacing peer districts. Peer districts include those with similar enrollment, socioeconomic composition, racial demographics, and urbanicity.

East Hartford was recognized for growth in both math and reading. Education Scorecard published a case study detailing strategies EHPS has implemented that have led to success.

Superintendent Thomas Anderson said, "“Our work is centered around the coherence of clarity, accountability, and measurement. We believe that accountability isn't a negative term; it’s a commitment we make to the students and families we serve every day.”
