East Hartford Public Schools geared up for the new school year with its annual Back to School Rally on August 6 drawing hundreds of families to the East Hartford Town Green for an event filled with celebration, support and school readiness.
Students and their families connected with community organizations, town and local services, and other vendors while listening to music, playing games and enjoying food. The highlight of the event was the distribution of 2,000 backpacks filled with school supplies, which were free for district students who came to the rally.
Thanks to the generosity of local organizations, businesses and individuals, along with the hard work of our volunteers and staff, this annual event once again helped ensure East Hartford students have what they need to succeed.
