The East Hartford Board of Education unanimously approved its budget for Fiscal Year 2027 during its regular meeting on Monday, December 15. This vote was preceded by public hearings and budget workshops with the Board of Education and the East Hartford Town Council where Superintendent Thomas Anderson presented investment priorities for the 2026-2027 school year.
The proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget is $106,213,941, which is a 1.9% increase over the current fiscal year. Contractual salary and benefits obligations for district employees make up 96% of the proposed increase of $1,981,047.
The district’s investment priorities remain clear: creating equitable opportunities for all students, building staff capacity, enhancing student services, updating learning spaces, and offering competitive salaries to our committed staff. Each item in the budget represents an investment in East Hartford students’ potential and in the collective work of Team EHPS.
