Dr. Anthony Mangiafico Named President of Connecticut Association for Adult and Continuing Education

Dr. Anthony Mangiafico, principal of East Hartford Adult & Continuing Education, has been named the president of the Connecticut Association for Adult & Continuing Education (CAACE).

In this new role, Dr. Mangiafico will continue CAACE’s efforts of advocating for additional adult education funding at the local, state, and federal levels, showcasing one of the best state adult education conferences in the country, supporting statewide marking efforts to recruit more students into adult education programs, and partnering with the Connecticut State Department of Education’s Anti-Racism Task Force.

“I am honored to lead CAACE as we grapple with many important challenges including the pandemic, insufficient funding, and systemic racism. Over the past year, we were able to lobby the Connecticut General Assembly for additional state funding for adult education and we need to build on that advocacy to support adult learners all across Connecticut,” said Dr. Mangiafico.

Dr. Mangiafico is a resident of Middletown who serves on the Middletown Common Council. He is currently the principal of East Hartford Adult & Continuing Education.
