The Office of Family and Community Partnerships is a dedicated department within East Hartford Public Schools (EHPS) that fosters meaningful partnerships between families, schools, and the community. The Office of Family and Community Partnerships emphasizes the critical role families play in supporting student achievement and well-being.


Our Mission

To create collaborative, culturally responsive relationships that empower families as partners in their children's education, ensuring equitable access to resources, support, and opportunities for success.


Key Focus Areas

Family Engagement

  • Strengthening connections between families and schools.
  • Providing workshops, events, and tools that equip families to support student learning at home and in school.
Support Services
  • Offering direct assistance for families navigating challenges such as housing instability, food insecurity, and access to mental health resources.
  • Acting as a bridge to community-based resources and services
Attendance Initiatives
  • Promoting consistent school attendance through programs like the Learner Engagement and Attendance Program (LEAP).
  • Partnering with families to address barriers to regular school participation
Home-School Partnerships
  • Supporting Family Support Specialists embedded in each school to provide individualized support.

Equity and Access
  • Ensuring all families, regardless of background, have a voice in the educational process
