The East Hartford Board of Education unanimously adopted its final budget for Fiscal Year 2027 at its regular meeting on April 6, 2026. The adopted FY2027 budget totals $106,213,941, representing a 1.9% increase over the current fiscal year. Contractual salary and benefits obligations for district employees account for 96% of the total increase of $1,981,047.
The Board’s final vote followed a series of public hearings and budget workshops held in collaboration with the East Hartford Town Council, during which Superintendent Thomas Anderson presented the district’s investment priorities for the 2026–2027 school year. The Board’s proposed budget was carried forward in the Mayor’s recommended budget and approved by the town council on March 9, 2026.
The district’s investment priorities remain focused on creating equitable opportunities for all students, building staff capacity, enhancing student services, updating learning spaces, and offering competitive salaries to our dedicated staff. Each component of the budget reflects a continued commitment to supporting East Hartford students’ success and strengthening the collective efforts of Team EHPS.
