The Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE) has selected East Hartford Public Schools as one of seven districts to participate in an innovative artificial intelligence (AI) in education pilot program.
The state program will take place through June 2025 focusing on students in grades 7-12. In East Hartford, select classrooms at East Hartford Middle School, East Hartford High School and Connecticut IB Academy will participate and gain hands-on experience in AI tools such as Cloud Navigator and MagicSchool.
The pilot program will evaluate the integration of AI tools in the classroom and how they can enhance instruction through project-based learning experiences, personalized learning pathways, real-time student progress monitoring, and/or potential AI enhanced grading assistance.
Educators will receive professional development to maximize the tools’ benefits and assess their impact on teaching and learning. Throughout the pilot program, CSDE will monitor implementation and outcomes, sharing best practices to guide future technology integration efforts across the state.
The other districts chosen for the program are Lebanon, Rocky Hill, Seymour, Waterford, Westport, and Odyssey Community School in Manchester.
