East Hartford Public Schools (EHPS) is hosting its annual Back to School Rally on Wednesday, August 14 from 3:30-6:30pm on the East Hartford Town Green featuring music, giveaways and more. During last year’s rally, EHPS distributed approximately 1,700 backpacks filled with school supplies to East Hartford students thanks to the support of community partners and donations from businesses, organizations and individuals. Their continued generosity ensures EHPS can host this community event every year.
The annual rally is organized by the EHPS Office of Family and Community Partnerships who have brought together more than 20 community vendors to share resources and information to district families.
The highlight of the event for children is leaving the rally with a new backpack, stocked with school supplies, so they’re ready for the upcoming school year. Families are encouraged to visit available vendors before choosing a backpack.
