Principal’s Message

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians:

Throughout autumn, EHHS classrooms are in full swing. Projects and papers are assigned and completed as students balance the rigors of college readiness courses with extra-curricular activities. Those students that are successful have built numerous relationships with their peers and the adults in the Hornet Community.

Students are offered so many opportunities to grow and develop the skills and qualities to be well-rounded citizens that produce inside the classroom, on the athletic field and out in the community.

Our attendance rate for the month of September was 96%, 2 points higher than last year’s average. We will continue to focus on Attendance, Teaching, and Learning.

Attendance: Every School Day Counts.

Teaching: Every Class Matters.

Learning: Every Student Improves.

We believe that adult actions make a huge impact on our students. As we learn the most effective strategies to best prepare our students for college and careers, we are confident through collaboration and consistency we can make a difference with EVERY STUDENT.

October begins with events for juniors and seniors and ends with SPIRIT WEEK and Homecoming! This is a great month to be a Hornet!

student perspective

I don't think anyone really understands the stress of being a senior, until you're a senior. There are so many things to worry about - not failing classes for one, applying to colleges, extracurriculars, work, FAFSA, scholarships - it never ends! The next few months of my life are going to be hectic, but I just can't wait until the second semester, until all of the stress is over and its time for all of the fun activities. Until then, I have to look forward to the closer things - like the football games we are going into stronger than before, and the spirit week slowly approaching in November. It's definitely going to be one heck of a ride, I'll tell you that much.
