At Langford Elementary, we foster a positive neighborhood school that delivers high quality learning experiences in literacy,  mathematics and unified arts.

WELCOME Mrs. Cyndi Callahan! We look forward to working with you as our new Principal.

A twenty year veteran educator with multiple teaching, coaching and administrative roles, Cyndi brings a unique and powerful blend of instructional and executive leadership skills to EHPS. She began her career in Bloomfield Public Schools and later joined a highly talented team of educators to participate in a new school “startup” at the Hartford Magnet Middle School. Following this experience, Cyndi moved into an instructional coaching position where she worked hard to develop teachers’ skills, competencies and abilities for the next nine years.

As she grew in this role, she began to seek out administrative experiences and was selected into the competitive University of Connecticut Residency program facilitated by LEAD Connecticut. The LEAD program is an extremely rigorous and respected program that focuses on preparing highly effective principal candidates to schools in need of improvement. This program emphasized Cyndi’s skill development in school leadership as she served as a resident principal for Hartford Public Schools at Naylor/C.C.S.U. Leadership Academy. Following this training experience, Cyndi accepted a position as the Dean of Students at the Asian Studies Academy at Dwight-Belizzi School with Hartford Public Schools where she has been highly regarded by families, colleagues and students. She is an equity champion, a committed learner and an experienced and proven leader. Cyndi gets kids, believes in success and has shown the ability to bring a faculty together around the necessary and vital work of school improvement—we are thrilled to have her!

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year!  We are all excited to begin the new school year at Langford Elementary School!  Our entire staff of teachers, paras, tutors, nurse, secretary and custodians are all dediated to making sure that all our students have high quality learning experiences every day!

One of Langford’s goals is to see that all students, parents, and staff feel a sense of community at Langford School.  To accomplish this we will continue to promote a positive school climate through exciting educational programs, motivational rewards for students, evening community events and increased opportunities for parents to get involved in many ways at our great neighborhood school. Of course, our focus remains on improving our students' literacy and mathematics achievement across the board!

Langford School will continue with our Positive Behavior Support model to help promote a positive school climate.  Our staff works diligently to support students in making positive behavioral choices to ensure each student thrives in a safe, secure, learning environment. All school rules are based on our five simple RRAPS expectations for the entire Langford community: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be an Active Learner and Be a Positive Role Model, and Be Safe.

If you have any questions or concerns about our programs, curriculum, activities or other school related issues, please don’t hesitate to contact me at (860) 622-5700. I look forward to working with you to provide the BEST education possible for your child.
