HOME OF THE LIONS

On behalf of the entire staff of Robert J. O’Brien STEM Academy, welcome to our school website! Our staff is committed to ensuring the success of each of our students academically, socially and emotionally.
Robert J. O’Brien STEM Academy offers students a K-5 STEM program, which was developed to challenge students who are curious about their world and interested in learning through hands-on activities in science, engineering and mathematics. In our STEM program, technology is used in all subjects to increase student engagement and learning. Students are engaged in high level thinking and problem solving as they explore and ask questions about their world and gather and reflect on information using an inquiry-based process. Enhanced learning opportunities are provided in and beyond the classroom and in afterschool programs which support the STEM theme. Connections are made to opportunities in the middle and high school, and STEM career options are introduced and explored.
It is our goal to promote a positive school climate, where students feel safe and families are welcomed. Our Family & Community Outreach Coordinator, Ms. Margie Williams, is here to help families make connections with staff and community resources. Please do not hesitate to contact Margie if you have a question or need assistance. We encourage our students’ families to participate in school events and activities, become involved in our Parent Teacher Organization and School Governance Council, and volunteer with their child’s classroom. Please visit O’Brien’s website during the year to see updates about events, current school newsletters, and other information that will enable you to support your child’s education at home.
If you have any questions about our school, I encourage you to contact me at 860-622-5760. I look forward to working with you to provide the best education for your child.
