State Building Grants
The Department of Facilities works closely with the State of Connecticut Office of School Construction Grants and Review (OSCGR) to secure and manage grant funding for major school construction projects throughout the district. The Town of East Hartford is reimbursed for 76.43% (2017 Rate) of the total eligible projects costs from the State through this program.
Types of projects that can be funded under this program include alterations, code updates, roof replacements, total renovation, or new construction. The Department of Facilities explores applicability when developing and refining the Board of Education’s Capital Improvement Plan. When a project is selected and approved by the Town for grant submission, the Department of Facilities handles the grant submittal and manages the project through completion and State Audit.
