Home of the Goodwin Gators

Goodwin staff is committed to meeting the needs of every Goodwin child, every day.

message from mr. brodeur

Welcome to Goodwin School!  I strongly believe that your child is in for an outstanding experience here at our school.  While our academic focus is strongly rooted in meeting very high standards, we remain focused on having Goodwin School  be a place where countless wonderful positive interactions occur every day, among students, teachers, staff, everyone.  As Principal I am proud to say that our number one priority is committing to making every day a positive experience for children, and to welcoming them and their families in an open, accepting, safe environment.

We are also a school that maintains the highest levels of educational expectations.  Our recently-bestowed honor of being one of Connecticut’s “Schools of Distinction” has validated the hard work and commitment to continuous improvement, on the part of students, faculty, and staff.  As Principal, I as well seek to improve every day, and I look forward to working with all the members of the Goodwin community to make our school better.  We take our Goodwin mission very seriously.  Goodwin staff is committed to meeting the needs of every Goodwin child, every day and we hope that we will indeed be the Pride of our Community!

Please feel free to call or visit at any time.  I am looking forward to working with you!

We have applied for a Seeds of Change Grant to win up to $25,000 for the Goodwin School Garden! If selected, we plan to utilize the money for 3 main goals. First, we will host nutrition events to learn about how food is grown and prepared in a hands-on manner with taste-testing, recipes, and nutritional info. Next, we will provide healthy food for the community through harvest and donation to our students and community meal programs, but we need a farm stand cart for distribution. Our final goal is to adapt our garden into a more sensory-friendly space and host events with stations such as tasting, smelling, touching and digging in order to meet the needs of our diverse learners.

What can you do to help? Please vote DAILY below from 3/30/17-4/19/17.

Please share widely to help us achieve these goals for our students!
