Hello Hornet Community!

East Hartford High School Athletic Department wrapped up its very successful winter season April 4th with its annual Sports Night. Over 30 Hornet Student Athletes were honored for their academic, civic, and athletic accomplishments. Our Unified Sports Basketball team led the way with team accomplishments by winning their league and two tournaments ending with an undefeated record. This was followed by the boys and girls basketball teams each posting winning records and at times in the season being ranked in the state. Our boys basketball won a share of the CCC North, and made it to the LL State Semifinals. Cheerleading ended their season by finishing 7th overall in the state, a major accomplishment in this highly competitive field. Swimming finished a very successful season sending several student athletes to state trials and the LL Meet. Senior Sheldon Walters should be recognized as he finished the 17th best diver in the State Open. A congratulations to Nick Fenton for being selected to play in the CHSCA All Star basketball game!

Now that all the snow has melted and warmer weather approaches, our spring sports season is underway. All spring sports look to build on last years successes and compete in the competitive CCC North. Baseball looks to defend their CCC North title behind the pitching of Jeremy McDermott and leadership of Steven Martel. Softball returns to the diamond with a competitive squad looking to win the league. Cassie Quattropani, Monica Petrella , Cory Lynn Moreland ,Samantha McFarland , and Jacqueline Damaschi look to lead the Hornets. Both boys and girls track teams look to compete against the states best at various meets around the state. Returning for the Hornets is Dana Bramble and Kurt Lungrin, two of the best track athletes in the state. New coach Al Ford looks to help boys golf improve their scores and skill sets. East Hartford boys and girls tennis returns strong senior leaders looking to help talented underclassman develop and carry on the EHHS Tennis tradition. Coming off a highly successful fall volleyball season, Coach Martinez looks to lead the boys volleyball team back to the state tournament and compete for a CCC title.
