East Hartford High School offers a wide array of interscholastic activities for students to participate in throughout their educational career. We believe that participation in a properly controlled, well-organized athletic program, will allow students the ability to grow physically, socially, and emotionally in addition to learning invaluable life lessons like teamwork, commitment, and sportsmanship. These invaluable life lessons will benefit not only the individual student athlete but the school and community as a whole. We strive to continue to make the East Hartford community proud of the fine tradition and achievements that our student-athletes have accomplished over the years.
Here at East Hartford High School we offer a wide range of sports divided into three seasons throughout the school year. We also offer intramural activities as well as afterschool clubs. There are numerous ways for students to be involved and we encourage all students to participate. That being said, if choosing to participate in interscholastic activities, our athletes are expected to be committed and responsible team players at all times whether in their individual sport, in the classroom or elsewhere. Athletes are expected to attend all practices, be a leader, and make their school proud with their positive words and actions.
All student-athletes are governed by regulations formulated by the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference (C.I.A.C.) in which all Connecticut high schools hold membership. The C.I.A.C. organization insures standardized and fair regulations for which all schools must follow. Athletic activities in East Hartford High School are further governed by their membership in the Central Connecticut Conference and the guidelines established in this handbook.
Play fair! Play smart! Play as a team! Let’s Go Hornets!
