CAS @ CIBA

 

In light of the modifications to the CAS program, we are going to make some changes in the CAS program at CIBA. The focus will shift to satisfactory demonstration of competency with the Eight Learning Outcomes
 
Students must show evidence of achievement of the Eight Learning Outcomes by April 1 of their senior year (This will fulfill the CAS Graduation requirement).
 
Individual:  

  • Select activities that address the Eight Learning Outcomes.
  • Any activity should include a significant time commitment, and that time should be recorded as part of your evidence/evaluation.
  • Students must show evidence of completion of the three components of CAS (Creativity, Action, Service)

 
Projects: 

  • One (1) project per year (grades 11 and 12)   
  • Students meet with CAS advisor to set project
    • Seniors: before October 31
    • Juniors: before November 30
  • Students must show evidence of completion of the three components of CAS (Creativity, Action, Service)
  • Projects must be completed by April 1
  • Students must work with underclassers (9th w/11th; 10th /12th)
    • In-school projects (mandatory)
    • Out-of-school projects (optional)
    • Pairings will be maintained for two years when possible
    • DP students may choose their assistant, or they will be assigned
  • CAS Advisor and administration will create a rubric to measure completion of project and Learning Outcomes

 
Activities/Projects must be preapproved and submitted two (2) weeks in advance to ManageBac.
 
Any work done over the summer must be submitted to ManageBac by November 5, 2010
