Tyron V. Harris is a Board of Education Member because I believe my passion and commitment to education along with my business experience allow me to bring a new effective voice to the board. Further, I care deeply about our community's children and believe just as strongly in public education as I know you do. Some time ago, I remember, I read an article that claimed that Hartford, Connecticut, was one of the worst places to raise a child.  This motivated me to become actively involved.  I want members of the Board of Education to be role models, and I want to foster more parental involvement in the education of their children and in the public schools.  I have an eight-year-old brother who attends Langford Elementary School.
