Family Resource Center
The Family Resource Center was established to support the healthy development of families in the community. The FRC offers an integrated system of family support services that enhance parenting, promote family involvement with the schools, and help children to succeed academically, socially and emotionally.
Our center is located in room 22.

Playgroups: We offer playgroups four days a week to East Hartford residents and their children ages birth to five. Playgroups provide an opportunity for parents and their young children to participate with other families in a structured program which includes free play, snack, arts and crafts, songs and story time. Playgroups are held Tuesday-Friday from 10:00-11:15 a.m.
The Book Place: The East Hartford Family Resource Centers are pleased to announce a new partnership with Read to Grow! Read to Grow is a leader in early literacy initiatives in Connecticut. The FRC at Early Childhood Learning Center is now a Read to Grow community "Book Place". This means that families are invited to stop in and choose 2 FREE books per child. The books are yours to keep. Our "Book Place" hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 A.M. - 2:30 P.M. Please stop by and check us out!
Parents as Teachers Home Visit Program: An internationally recognized, award winning program which empowers parents to be their child's best first teacher. The program provides support for families from pregnancy through preschool. Information on child development and behavior management, as well as developmental screenings are included.
Parent Workshops: Workshops are offered throughout the year on various topics of interest. Recent workshops have focused on nutrition, discipline, self help skills and the value of early literacy.
Lending Library: A variety of books, toys, games, and parent resources are available for families to borrow.
