All non-East Hartford residents will be required to pay a fee of $25 per ½ credit class of East Hartford’s Credit Diploma Program. The $25 fee is also to be paid for online classes via Connecticut Adult Virtual High School. Twenty-two credits are required to graduate from the program including credits in the following areas:

Students must complete at least two credits at East Hartford Adult Education, no matter how many credits that student has earned at another school or district.
Students must register with an official transcript from their previous high school, plus an acceptable form of identification. All potential students will take appraisal tests in math and language arts. Minimum scores for entry into East Hartford Credit Diploma Program are:
- Math: 230
- Reading: 236
Credits earned from another district or another adult education program will be reviewed upon enrollment to determine if we will recognize the credits for the purposes of our graduation requirements.
East Hartford Adult Education runs on a trimester schedule:
- Trimester 1: September to November
- Trimester 2: December to February
- Trimester 3: March to May
Classes run either Monday and Wednesdays or Tuesday and Thursdays, from either 3:45-5:45 p.m. or 6-8:00 p.m. at East Hartford High School, 869 Forbes Street.
Students will sign a behavior contract and are expected to follow all rules of decorum while on the school grounds. Loss of credit in a class due to tardies, absences, or behavior, will not result in a student’s money being refunded. Also, if a student does not show up for class, there will be no refunds. Classes missed due to an instructor’s absence or a school closing may be made up, depending on whether or not the state required number of hours for the class has been met. A failing grade does not result in the return of a student’s money.
All fees are to be paid before classes start, at the time of registration. If a student does not have the fees needed for classes, that student will not be eligible to enroll in classes. Fees must be paid in cash, money order or cashier’s check to “East Hartford Adult Education.”
